Kendall: For a long time while learning language, I found I had the same issue. Other things would get in the way, and even more so when my daughter was born. However, recently I figured out that rather than relying on willpower, I tricked myself into studying daily until it became habit. I setup my environment to be a no-fail environment (something I saw Dr. Phil mention once on TV), so that no matter where I went, it would be convenient and easy to study, and also that reminders were everywhere. That worked pretty well, and over time it became an ingrained habit, so I don’t rely on reminders as much now. Also, because my confidence has increased, I have fewer mental hindrances.

It’s amazing how it easy it is to change habits once you know how to bring about change. It’s not willpower at all, but environment. We are a product of our environment, so we have to learn how to setup the environment to achieve the results we want.
