This is definitely a sign I need to find a new hobby
Posted: June 22, 2009 | Author: Doug | Filed under: General | 6 Comments »I spent the last hour working on a big expansion/edit of a certain Wikipedia article on the Hossō school of Buddhist thought, when my clumsy fingers closed the tab I was working on, deleting all changes. It’s 11:35 pm, I have to work tomorrow, and I am tired.
I could be using this time to do more productive things like sleep, or actually putting Buddhism into practice. I love studying, but I think I need to scale back the work somewhat and do more productive things with my life.
I guess an apt lesson in the First Dharma Seal that all compounded things are impermanent. Oh well.

Hey, at least you’re not up playing bubble blaster all night, like some people. :-/
Ha! Good point.
You have to learn to appreciate your own effort. Editing wikipedia _is_ putting Buddhism into practice. Not everybody can sit for eight hours or chant names ten thousand times. Still it’s a darn shame that you lost the work you did
Hi Jeremias,
Editing wikipedia _is_ putting Buddhism into practice.
Depends on who you ask. There’s plenty of people who will tell you’re not a real Buddhist if you don’t meditate.
Still it’s a darn shame that you lost the work you did
It wasn’t very good actually. Something late night I wanted to do that got off-track. I was trying to write an article about a monk named Tokuitsu, but I will try again tomorrow though in a different way.
You can solve this problem by using the Mix Tab Plus addon in Firefox.
If the tab you’re working on is absolutely critical, just hit righclick > protect on it.
It was really annoying me too, since I’ve had some pertty late nights and yards of code to test out. Bad time to close the source tree tab when making comparisons.
Ha ha ha, thanks much. I just started using Firefox 3.5, so I wonder if that will have something similar.
