Well, starting over again…

I don’t have time to go into it now, but I removed my old blog. The old “Level 8 Buddhist” is gone. I’ve started anew, though I really wish I hadn’t made such a damn rash move in the first place. I deleted a bunch of entries that I realize were kind of important. :(

Oh well. Starting over again…

For future reference, if you go to “manage” in your control panel and then “export” – you can save a file of all your entries to your computer and then import them into a new blog. That way you can import an old blog, or merge two, and delete the posts you no longer want.

All the best in your new venture.

A lesson learned on impermanence, I guess. I’m just glad that you are ok. :D

If you do a Google search for your old URL. you will see some cached pages and perhaps can rescue some data that way. Good luck with the new blog!

Thanks guys for the suggestions. I will definitely remember to “export” posts in the future, and Phil’s suggestions about caching did retrieve a few posts, so I am pleased.

Jeannie, you’re right. It’s amazing how ephemeral data really is. :P

Well, I had taken down the old link, and now I’ve got the new one up. I noticed that ray of Dharmakara’s Prayer had also deleted his WordPress blog, so at first I thought maybe something was amiss at WordPress.

I’ve considered deleting my blog as well on MANY occasions, and most of the time I’m not sure why I haven’t. Think of the quantity of “not right” speech that could be kept away from the blog-reading public. ;o)

In any case I am glad you have decided to try again.

About Me

This blog is the reflection of my efforts to explore fatherhood, Buddhism and my love of Japanese culture. Anything useful I can pass along makes the Internet hopefully a better place.

I am also a big fan of UNIX and BSD in particular, so watch as I clumsily relate those to Japanese Buddhist philosophy.
