A couple blog updates
Posted: January 10, 2009 | Author: Doug | Filed under: General | 4 Comments »In case you haven’t noticed by now, I changed the blog tempate. I really like this new template and plan on sticking with it for a while. The reason why I switched templates was that I ran into problems with too many “pages”, which didn’t render well under the old template. The other update, related to this, is that I have posted my own translation of the Buddhist devotional text, the 10 Verse Kannon Sutra, whose link above didn’t fit in the old template (hence the new one). Feel free to take a look, use it for your own services, whatever.
Enjoy!

Update: Posted another page for the Heart Sutra as well. Enjoy!
Are you using the new WordPress 2.7?
I think so.
My dashboard is all futuristic looking and such.
If you’re running 2.7 you should be able to pages under parent pages. Only the parent pages would show up on the top of your site. Thus you could have one page that leads to numerous other pages.
Go to my site http://www.elderguru.com and click on “Resources” at the top of the page. You’ll then see I have another 50 pages under that page, but only Resources shows at the top.
Using such an approach would let you add a pile of pages and leave the top of your blog clean looking.
You know, I saw that just the other day and though, “hm”. I was going to look into it, but though in my 30′s I think like a cantankerous old man who doesn’t like new things, so I may put it off for a while.
