I’ve beaten my personal blogging record, and the JLR has officially survived a second year!
After the blog passed its first birthday, I wasn’t sure I could still sustain it a second year, well beyond the lifespan of previous blogs, but somehow it’s still around, and I still have a big backlog of posts I want to write about. If only I could be a professional, full-time blogger for a living.
For amusement value, here is the first post of this blog, and the first post of the previous blog as well as the last: The Level 8 Buddhist.
P.S. Probably will take a short break during the weekend (no computer, etc). Apologies for slow replies to comments will be back by Friday.
Congrats. It’s hard to keep it up. My posting has become more infrequent.
Yeah, I had some real close ones toward the end of 2010. The second half of that year was pretty miserable, but blogging was kind of a catharsis too I guess.
Thanks for the well-wishes!
Happy Birthday blog!
You’re far more disciplined than I… My private friends-and-family blog has died and been reborn more times than I can count.
Ha ha ha, thanks! However, you may not be aware this is my 4th blog. The other three all lasted about 1 year each, or less (see the “About” page for details). Believe me, I was skeptical this one would survive. I guess having a schedule and more varied content helped.
Plus, I felt really bad about all the readers of the previous blogs who got screwed over everytime I deleted and created a new one. I was determined to stick with it, or at least keep the blog up if I decided to quit. Thankfully, neither has happened.
Excellent! I am happy to read your blog.
Yay! Happy birthday to the blog.
Hi Jonathan and Cocomino: thank you both very much.
Congrats! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed following your blogging in all its various incarnations—or perhaps more aptly put, “rebirths”
Thanks Arun! You’ve certainly been one of the most patient and supportive readers over the various “rebirths” of the blog.
Wow, two years. Hadn’t realized it had been that long. You definitely post enough to be full-time. I’m actually still back on your September posts still trying to catch up, so don’t be too surprised if you see a comment on and older post. Probably wouldn’t be so far behind if my workplace hadn’t blocked your blog (most blogs).
Hi Kendall, don’t feel bad. You could try subscribing to the email feed instead, assuming you can read email someplace. That might work.
Omedetou. It’s been a while since I visited your blog, good to see that you’re still around. Keep up the good work.
